If you want to become an expert in an area you should spend at least 15 minutes a day reading and learning about the topic. One thing we would like to do is to begin blogging on some of the business books we are reading. Hopefully this will be of value to others but I also know writing about what we read will help us retain more of the information.
Recently at a leadership conference several books were suggested. I think I'll begin with one of these books. A few of the thoughts from the conference:
The 10 10 10 rule for making decisions. This involves making decisions based on your values instead of the need at the moment. Basically look at how this decision will effect the next 10 minutes, 10 months and then 10 years. It takes a minute or two to make the decision but you will be happier with the decisions you make.
Another thought is when making goals to stop making "things to do" goals but rather "be" goals. Goals for how you want to be and how you want to behave.
Just a few thoughts for the day.
